Jose was born on November 26th, 1943.  Jose's father is Antonio Castañeda-Miramontes and his mother was Maura Garcia-Barios.  His paternal grandparents were Juan Castañeda-Delgado and Apolinaria Miramontes-Placencia; his maternal grandparents were Manuel Garcia-Robles and Amada Barrios-Ortega. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Juan, Federico, Manuel, Miguel, Magdaleno, Gaudencio, Maria and Rosario.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died due to a medical problem at the age of 51 on May 14th, 1995.
