Salvador was born on January 12th, 1969 in El Ranchito, Jalisco.  Salvador's father is Miguel Castañeda-Garcia and his mother was Carmen Flores.  His paternal grandfather is Antonio Castañeda-Miramontes and his paternal grandmother was Maura Garcia-Barios. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named Rafael, Conrado, Miguel, Jesus, Carlos, Alejandro, Leodoro, Mario, Hortencia, Guadalupe and Carmen.  He is the oldest of the twelve children.
